In February the town of Canmore embraces the season with the Canmore Winter Carnival. It’s a two week celebration full of indoor and outdoor events and activities that are enjoyed by the locals and visitors.
From year to year the schedule varies slightly with some new additions and old favourites. Highlights of the festival include ice and snow carving competitions, skating parties, street hockey, art crawls, bonfires and hotchocolate and live music. The Snowy Owl Kid N’ Mutt races is one of the popular activities, it’s a lot of fun to watch the kids race with a mini sled and dog.
